Formed
in October 1994, Cream Abdul Babar played their first show after just three
days. In December of 1995, Cream Abdul Babar released their first
E.P., “Chlamydia Lunch.” Their first tour followed: a southeastern
venture that gained the band their sixth member. The trombone made
it’s first recorded appearance on a split 7” with I Guard the Sheep in
June of 1996. An east coast tour quickly ensued. March of 1997
saw the release of Cream Abdul Babar’s first full-length CD, “The Backwater
of Masculine Ethics.” 15 tracks that fused ferocious hardcore, punk,
and noise with the patented “buried in the mix” trombone. That summer
Cream Abdul Babar hit the road on a complete U.S. tour with shows in San
Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, and everywhere
in between. Places like Al’s Bar, Fireside Bowl, Gilman Street, and
CBGB’s witnessed the onslaught of Cream Abdul Babar’s live show.
Now with the sextet’s fourth release, “Buried in Broken Glass,” Cream Abdul
Babar lay waste to all preconceptions about heavy music, fusing the most
punishing aspects of hardcore/noise/industrial/punk.
